FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEHOUSTON, TX --
What: Houston Open Friday Night Warmup Texas42 Tournament
What: Houston Open Texas42 Tournament "Houston is two hours from Houston" - why there isn't an official Houston 42 club with a board, a league, and scheduled tournaments The Houston Open is an open registration pair of 42 tournaments (Friday Night Warmup and Saturday main) that is set up to address the urgent need that Houston has to offer an event specifically for texas42 players. The game was invented in 1887 in Trappe Springs TX (now Garner) near Weatherford. Many texans have had a family history of playing 42 at Thanksgiving or other holidays. When four players gather, a 42 game breaks out. In 2011, Texas42 was designated the official domino game of Texas by the Legislature. So come one, come all to the Los Cucos on Clay Road in Houston and register and play. Haven't played in a decade? We will take your money. Aunt Mildred table talks and says "Now I trumped that vernon" (illegal). Mark. One 42 player told the story about tying for first and the polka band was going on in 5 minutes so they drew for high domino to determine the winner. He drew acey deucey and lost. Said he felt like he lost to the polka band. Another player in halletsville shared how in her family when a beloved relative would pass on they would wait for the next thunderstorm and then when the thunder cracked they would say "grandma played the 5:5" or "uncle albert just got set" to remember their fallen loved ones. Whatever the reason you feel compelled to come and shake the bones and play with us, come play. See you at the tables.
